Prior to joining the firm, Mark Bicks spent over 30 years in private practice where he focused on intellectual property. Mark’s experience spans the spectrum of intellectual property law including litigation, application preparation, the prosecution of applications before U.S. and foreign agencies, validity and infringement opinions, licensing, and interference and reexamination proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). 

Mark’s practice encompasses a wide range of technologies including complex mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic patent matters. He has represented clients before various federal district courts, appellate courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In addition to his trial work, Mark also has a significant experience in crafting creative settlements of intellectual property controversies.

Prior to joining the private sector, Mark was a patent examiner at the USPTO and during his time in law school, he served as a law clerk at the USPTO Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.
